Taiwanese overclocker “ksin” has put AMD in the spotlight again with yet another CPU frequency world record. Since AMD’s FX-8150 hit 8429.38 MHz back in September last year, we’ve known that it would be a special chip for CPU frequency record hunting, and that was further confirmed when shortly after that “chew*” hit 8461.51 MHz and again when overclockers “AndreYang” and chew* battled it out for top spot with speeds of 8491.7 MHz and 8584.8 MHz respectively.

Today, ksin managed to pull off an incredible 8805.64 MHz using an Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard and 2x 2 GB of ADATA-made DDR3 memory at a speed and timings of 1,417 MHz (2,834 MHz effective) @ 9-11-10-30. In order to use achieve this speed, 1.86v had to be sent through the CPU and extreme cooling had to be employed, although it is unclear whether he used liquid nitrogen or liquid helium as he did not fill in the exact details on HWBOT. The lack of details could be the reason that the score is currently blocked on HWBOT.
