ZOTAC GeForce GTX 670 TwinCooler Revealed
NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 670 comes with a surprisingly short PCB, with the cooler being substantially longer than the PCB due to the hamster-wheel fan used to blow air through the fins of the heatsink. The shortness of the PBC would have made the card ideal for compact gaming computers if it weren’t for the cooler making it nearly as long as its big brother, the GeForce GTX 680. While the PCB is only 173 mm long, the cooler increases the overall length of the card to 241 mm. Thankfully, ZOTAC has come to the rescue with the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 670 TwinCooler (the full model name is quite a mouthful – ZTGTX670-2GD5TCR001/ZT-60305-10P).
The GTX 670 TwinCooler features a much shorter (albeit fatter) heatsink thanks to the use of a custom cooler sporting two 80 mm fans which flow air directly onto the heatsink. This makes ZOTAC’s iteration of the card about 60 mm shorter than the reference design GTX 670, coming in at a total length of 178 mm. Even though ZOTAC has managed to compact the card to such an extent, they’ve still overclocked both the core and memory from a stock 915/980/6,008 MHz all the way up to 954/1,033/6,208 MHz for the base speed, boost speed and memory speed respectively.
