LOS ANGELES—E3—June 13, 2017—NVIDIA, Activision and Bungie, creators of the award-winning Destiny game franchise, today announced they are partnering to bring the Destiny franchise to PC for the first time with the much-anticipated action game Destiny 2.

NVIDIA lent its gaming and PC development expertise to help bring the PC platform’s advanced gaming features to Destiny 2 and to maximize the performance benefits of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs for PC gamers.

“NVIDIA’s developer resources, advanced gaming technologies and breadth of its GeForce PC platform make them an invaluable partner,” said Pete Parsons, CEO of Bungie. “The GeForce PC platform offers technologies and performance that allow gamers to see the Destiny universe the way we envisioned it for PC players.”

Destiny 2 is a first-person action game and the evolution of its award-winning, internationally acclaimed predecessor Destiny. The game offers a compelling, immersive story and fresh beginning for all players, from the casual to the competitive.

“Destiny is a franchise that is enshrined in the gaming lore,” said Tony Tamasi, senior vice president of Content and Technology at NVIDIA. “We’ve worked closely with Bungie and Activision to expand the Destiny universe onto the PC platform and help deliver cool gaming technologies and a great, community-based gaming experience in Destiny 2.”

Making Destiny 2 Awesome on the PC

NVIDIA’s collaboration started early in the game development process. The company’s engineers lent expertise and gave Bungie access to game development resources and tools. The relationship expanded with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs being selected to power the global Destiny 2 debut on PC at Activision’s gameplay reveal event held on May 18.

Destiny 2 will take advantage of the advanced technology features the PC platform provides, such as 4K resolution support, uncapped framerates, full mouse and keyboard support with custom key mapping, text chat, adjustable field of view, detailed PC settings controls and 21:9 monitor support.

As the game’s launch approaches, NVIDIA and Bungie are working to tune performance and assure that gamers will have support for features and technologies only offered on the GeForce GTX PC gaming platform, such as Game Ready Drivers, NVIDIA G-SYNC monitor technology, optimized playable settings and GeForce Experience.
