The ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe has been getting a lot of attention lately, managing to clock both RAM and the upcoming Core i7-3770K “Ivy Bridge” CPU to insane levels. Once again the board is in the news, this time taking the title as the first motherboard to break into the sub 5-minute SuperPi 32M zone. Russian overclocker “slamms” from OCLab managed an incredible 4 minutes, 59.141 seconds.

This is significantly faster than the 5 minutes, 13.719 seconds set by Hicookie using a Core i7-980X at 6,851 MHz almost two years ago. Frequencies were purposefully kept hidden as the CPU has not yet been released and performance information is still under NDA, but the hardware used consisted of the ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard, a Core i7-3770K processor at an estimated 6.85 GHz being force-fed 1.912v with HyperThreading disabled and 2x 2 GB Corsair Dominator GTX2 RAM running at timings of 8-11-8-28.
