Asus Z9PE-D8-WS Dual LGA2011 Motherboard Release Imminent

Since the release of the Asus Z7S WS board which went head to head with Intel’s D5400XS “Skulltrail”, Asus has been quiet in the 2P enthusiast motherboard department, leaving EVGA’s SR-2 without any form of competition. However, that is about to change. Competing with EVGA’s upcoming 2P EVGA SR-X motherboard for Sandy Bridge-EP processors, the Asus Z9PE-D8-WS will be released soon. NCIX, a Canadian retailer, has listed the board as available for pre-order at a price of CA $632.98, which equates to roughly US $635. The date of availability is not yet mentioned with a shipping date of “whenever it becomes available”, but the fact that it is already listed leads to the conclusion that launch is imminent.
