Recently, we have had a sneak peek at the MSI GeForce GTX 670 and an oddity noticed was the strange placement of the two 6-pin PCI-e power connectors. Today, we have some pictures of the Colorful GeForce GTX 670 including a shot of the rear of the card which clearly shows the reason for the power connectors’ placement.

As can be seen by the above picture, the PCB comes to an end at the last ~ 2.5″ (~ 6.5 cm) of the card, which consists of a plastic chamber for the fan. As there are no metal fins in the chamber, the weight hanging off of the edge of the PCB is of no concern. The overall shorter PCB confirms that the GTX 670 will not share the PCB of its bigger brother, the GTX 680.

In order to shorten the PCB, the VRM circuitry has been relocated to the front of the card, much like the AMD Radeon HD 7800 series of cards. The memory chips have also been split across both sides of the PCB, with four chips on each side. The GeForce GTX 670 is expected to release on the 10th of this month with an estimated retail price of US $399 to US $429. Source — Expreview
