Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT Review
Software
After years of using iCUE it is most certainly a powerful package but one that just can’t bring itself to be intuitive to use. For instance, the Cougar UIX system for their keyboards is nowhere near as powerful or as integrated perhaps, but presents all possible keyboard configuration and customization options in an obvious and intuitive manner. As far as usability and accessibility is concerned, iCUE isn’t a match for the hardware. So, after year’s of using the iCUE suit, I’m familiar with it and the power it places at your hands, but I’m never unaware of just how convoluted the entire user experience is.
That said, the K95 RGB Platinum XT brings with it Elgato Stream Deck integration. I do believe this is the first time we’ve seen such integration between hardware from Corsair and Elgato software. Yes, it’s largely cosmetic at this juncture with alternate keycaps and such, but it is more integration than before. For the live streamers, this may prove to be invaluable or super useful addition. This is a growing activity and it makes sense that CORSAIR would target it given their investment in the space.
