Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless Review

Package & Presentation

There’s the usual bits and pieces inside which means the wireless dongle, the detachable microphone, a charging cable and a noise cushion for the microphone. It’s all packed firmly and held together with plastic. Each part individually wrapped as well. In terms of presentation, it’s nothing to write home about.

As you open the box, the first thing you’re presented with is the headset with the ear cups folded flat against the box containing all the accessories and cabling. Without digging further, one may simply pick up the set, plug in your own 3.5mm stereo mini jack cable and start listening.

Even at first sight, it’s pretty obvious that the Virtuoso RGB set is at the very least attempting to appeal to the more discerning person. There seems to be nothing carried over from any of the other products. I do hope Corsair continues with this design as it does look rather pleasing.

Outside of this, it’s business as usual. I do lament that there’s no cleaning cloth for one, but more importantly a carry pouch of sorts for you to store the cables and SLIPSTREAM dongle. In practice, it means you’ll be constantly be searching in the box for the correct cable or dongle. The Virtuoso RGB SE model has a carry bag for precisely this purpose. The Carbon edition could have done with one as well even if it was just for the accessories or of a cheaper material. That said, it is better than what many headsets ship with and one can always make alternative plans for keeping the accessories in a safe but easy to reach place.
