It’s no secret that DRAM prices have fallen and at the same time it’s near, if not impossible to find really tight timing RAM anymore. Luckily though, it seems the Sandy Bridge platform is more responsive to memory frequency or isn’t as severely hurt by higher latencies as say the previous generation X58 platform would be.
