MSI GeForce GTX 680 Lightning Revealed
As with the Radeon 7970 Lightning before it, the MSI GeForce GTX 680 “N680GTX Lightning” uses the high-performance black and yellow Twin Frozr IV cooler renowned for its cooling ability. While clock speeds have not yet been announced, they will most probably be in the region of 10 % higher than the reference speeds as with Lightning cards before it, and it is known that the card will feature a 2 GB GDDR5 frame buffer which seems small compared to the 4 GB offered by several other AIB manufacturers.
The card will also sport Unlocked Digital Power VRM which allows users control over GPU, memory and auxiliary (PLL) power domains using MSI’s own Afterburner overclocking utility. Three voltage read points are also supplied for the above-mentioned voltages, and the card is powered by two 8 pin PCIe power connectors. The GPU Reactor first seen on the Radeon 7970 Lighting shows its head once more, and the card uses Military Class III components to maximize overclocking potential. The rear I/O plate used is that of reference cards, with display outputs consisting of two DVI, DisplayPort and HDMI connectors. More pictures of the card follow below. Source — VR-Zone
