NVIDIA’s current top-end GPU, the GeForce GTX Titan, is undoubtedly the fastest consumer single GPU graphics card available at the moment, but it comes with a hefty price-tag of approximately US $999. The GeForce 6800 Ultra, GeForce 8800 Ultra and others were also priced at $999, so the price is not unheard of. However, it does limit the market to only those with very deep pockets. NVIDIA’s response to this could be a cut-down version of the card, known currently as the Titan LE.

Almost identical to the Titan, the Titan LE seems to differ only in the number of GDDR5 memory ICs present. Instead of 24 2Gbit chips on a 384-bit bus, the Titan LE will feature 20 chips on a 320-bit bus. The GPU core and boost speeds are unknown but, based on the GeForce GTX 680 and Titan, the Titan LE will most probably have a memory speed of 6008 MHz effective. The CUDA core count will also take a slight knock down to the 2304 to 2496 range.

The Titan LE will use a cooler very similar to its bigger brother and features the same 8+6 pin PCI-e power connectors, dual SLI connectors, and display outputs including DVI-DL, HDMI and DisplayPort. The card is expected to hit retail at an estimated US $659 to $759. Source — WCCFTech
