XFX RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra Review
Visual Inspection
The XFX RX 5600 XT Thicc III provides a dual BIOS solution. As we’ve come to expect one BIOS is for quiet operation, while the other is the normal mode BIOS. I didn’t find much of a difference between these two during gaming outside of a slight temperature rise in quiet mode. When I say slight I mean 2 ~ 3’C at the very top.
The Thicc III uses an additional PCIe connector for power draw over the Thicc II, but it actually makes no any tangible difference to performance. Still it doesn’t hurt to be able to draw more power should the need arise for some reason.
There is no RGB lighting of any kind here. In fact, there isn’t much of what I would call styling. the contrast between the black plastic shroud and the copper XFX labels helps break the monotony. It’s a combination that’s simple and makes an otherwise plain card stand out a little.
There is’t much in the box, outside of the card and a power adapter cable. It’s a thin package, alongside the absence custom software that likely make the XFX offering one of, if not the most affordable RX 5600 XT on the market.
