XFX RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra Review
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey & Metro Exodus
Assassin’s Creed:Odyssey remains one of the more demanding games of this generation when using the ultra high preset. The XFX card delivers a rock solid 62 FPS at FHD, exactly what this GPU is targeting. For QHD, you can use the very high preset which is near indistinguishable from Ultra but offers 55FPS+.
Metros Exodus much like all the Metro games before is heavy for it’s generation of hardware. While not represented here, even the mighty 2080 Ti cannot produce high frame rates with Ray-tracing on at any resolution barring FHD. The results below are with DXR disabled, in which case the 5600XT does a commendable job at nearly 70FPS at 1080P. You can even crank that up to 1440P and still get relatively smooth gameplay.
AMD has promised DXR features in their next RDNA GPUs while NVIDIA is set to significantly improve performance with Ampere. At such a time, one may start testing with these features enabled, but until then it’s DXR off for Metro.
